Denizen MKE, Washington Park Media Center, JazzyRae’ Jewels and Accessories, and Artists Working in Education (AWE) are thrilled to present 43rd+Vliet, a free neighborhood event series in our creative small businesses near Milwaukee’s Washington Park on the Near West Side. From 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and continuing monthly on the last Friday of the month from January to May 2026, our indoor and outdoor spaces will transform into lively artistic hubs showcasing performances, installations, media-making, refreshments and activities with local creatives. These events celebrate the neighborhood’s cultural diversity while fostering vibrant street life along Vliet Street.

Washington Park Media Center: (Washington Park Media Center activities will be inside Denizen in January. There building will be closed for January only.) Explore our media production, strategy, and training center on Milwaukee’s Near West Side, across from the Historic Washington Park. Our mission is to welcome and serve the neighbors around Washington Park, as well as our global creative network. We provide a space for filming, photography, podcasting, live streaming, hybrid events and multimedia installations.

Artists Working in Education: Teach Art? This one’s for you! On the last Friday of each month, AWE hosts the Art Teacher Club- A welcoming monthly meet-up where artists and art educators can experiment with materials, swap teaching ideas, hear from our guest speakers and connect with a supportive community. While this is designed for art teachers, it is open to the public - whether you teach art, love art or are simply curios, you’re invited to join!
